(Updated 3/30/22) Academy Student Job Fair
This Friday, April 1st, our students will have the option to attend our first Academy Student Job Fair over either Lunch or Intervention. Employers like CoxHealth, Prime Inc, and the City of Springfield will be at Glendale to promote part-time and summer jobs for students under 18 that may align with their pathway. Please encourage your student to talk with the companies about job prospects. We will also have Youth Volunteer Corps sharing volunteer opportunities in our community and the MO Jobs Center to help with resumes and finding a job.

Hello GHS friends and family. As many of you know, Prom 2022 is approaching us very soon. Glendale will be holding a dress drive for students. Dresses will be available for view and try on in room 101 from 2:30-3:00 every day until April 29th. If your family has any gently used prom dresses at home that you would like to lend out for this event, please contact Ms. Petree at enpetree@spsmail.org.

Senior letters were sent out before Spring break. For convenience I have attached them to this email., please look over them and be aware of upcoming dates and deadlines.
In addition, I have included Seal of Excellence information. Students, please direct inquiries to the department heads listed below for specific questions in an educational area. As established by the Springfield Board of Education, those graduating seniors who have demonstrated achievement of the standards of excellence in one or more subject areas will have a “Seal of Excellence” certificate included with their diploma. These recognitions are also printed in our Commencement Program.
The pamphlet “Standards of Excellence to Obtain a Departmental Seal of Excellence” can be found on the Glendale home page or by clicking the link below.
Seal of Excellence applications will be made available to seniors in the Counseling Office beginning Monday, March 21st thru April 7th. (Updated 3/30/22) Missouri Student Survey
As in every even year since 2000, the Missouri Student Survey (also known as the Safe and Drug-Free Schools survey) will be administered during the 2021-2022 school year. This survey is a valuable tool to learn more about students’ tobacco, drug, and alcohol use as well as bullying, mental health, and other information. The results are important to our district as we plan prevention activities and can provide information necessary for local grant applications. The students take the survey online and their responses are completely anonymous, voluntary, and confidential. If you do not want your child to take this survey, you must fill in THIS FORM and submit it to Dr. Lisa Anderson at landerson320@spsmail.org.

ENROLLING STUDENTS NOW! Glendale High School has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks to provide one-on-one mentoring with local professionals to support your student's future planning. As the guardian, you will complete the brief online application: Enrollment Link to get the process started. Your student and the mentor will meet twice a month at school during FlexTime. We are looking for students who are regularly at school, facing adversity in some way, and are a sophomore-junior currently. We are hovering around $3,000 short of our goal to raise $10,000 this year to support our wonderful GHS teachers and students! Capital Campaign is Glendale's MAIN fundraiser and ALL the money we raise goes directly to our teachers and students. Teachers may make requests for books, supplies, or anything else they need in the classroom and PTSA (with your generosity) can grant these requests. Also, Captial Campaign money is used to show our appreciation to our teachers and staff by providing Teacher Appreciation Lunches and other gifts throughout the school year. (Updated 3/30/22) Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Scholarship Application Now Open
The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development is pleased to announce the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Scholarship application for the current Spring 2022 semester is now open. The application is available on the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment for Students page on MDHEWD’s website.
The priority deadline is Feb. 1, 2022, but applications will be accepted through April 1, 2022. Applications received between Feb. 1 and April 1 will be awarded based on available funding. In addition to submitting the electronic form, to complete the application students must also mail a copy of the page that shows the adjusted gross income from the most recent 1040 federal tax form for the parent or guardian that claimed them as a dependent for that tax year. The mailing address is provided on the electronic application.

Wednesday Is Late Start
Glendale High School teachers participate in professional learning weekly, on Wednesday mornings. Students may still arrive at the normal times, but their school day does not start until 8:00 AM on Wednesdays (7:30 AM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday). On Wednesday morning, we provide supervision for students, 9th grade will report to the small gym, 10th grade will report to the auditorium, 11th grade to the big gym, and 12th grade to the cafeteria/commons area.

To pay off your students' fees online or with a credit card, please follow the instructions below for an easy way to pay.
Getting started is a simple three-step process!
2. Create a user profile with your email address, establish a password, and set up your security questions.
3. Add a Student to your account using the student’s name and date of birth or student ID number. Note: student ID numbers can be obtained by contacting the school.
Now you’re ready to make payments!

If you do not know your login, contact the Glendale main office at 417-523-8901, and the office staff will provide this information.
Then go to https://www.sps.org/ or https://www.sps.org/glendale and click on the Family Home Access Center link. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password.

Student charges for repairs and replacements start back today. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Sierra Blain via Slack or email at sdblain@spsmail.org.
Repairs and replacements will only be charged if they are submitted today [9/20] or after today. If a device was submitted for repair before today and is not yet fixed, the student will not be charged when the repair is done.
The charges are:
Case Replacement: $10 free/reduced lunch and full pay lunch
Charger replacement: $10 free/reduced lunch and $25 full pay lunch
Device repair: $10 free/reduced lunch and $25 full pay lunch
Device Replacement: $25 free/reduced and $50 full pay lunch
A+ Program Updates
The A+ Program provides scholarship funds for eligible graduates to attend most Missouri community colleges and technical schools. In addition, several four-year Missouri colleges and universities offer their own scholarship for A+ qualified students. Last year our A+ graduates could earn as much as $10,000 towards their college tuition and general fees.
Glendale makes the A+ program fun by providing promotional activities and events each school year. Each year we have around 50% of graduates qualify for the A+ program. The Branch
Students needing free food, hygiene and/or clothing supplies… GHS is proud to have The Branch Hygiene, Clothing, and Food Outreach Program inventory available to our students at no cost! Please see Mr. Faucher or Mrs. Patton for any needs.
Please check your student's grades for seated courses in eSchool. We will continue to post student grades in eSchool. It is vital that students start strong. Please check your student's grades online, and communicate with your student's teachers. Our goal is that all students are academically successful, please encourage your student to submit all assignments.
If your student is taking a LAUNCH course or is fully virtual, their grades will be kept updated in Canvas.
eSchool is where you see your students' grades (completed assignments) and Canvas is where you see what they are doing, and what they will be doing (current and future assignments and learning).
Grades & D/F Phone Calls
Grades in eSchool are the official grades for seated students. GHS will continue sending phone messages to the homes of students who have a D or F in any of their classes. If you haven't started checking eSchool grades please do so. If you receive the phone call please check eSchool to see what class(es) your student has the D/F. We also recommend you contact the teacher with questions, concerns, or you feel an error has been made.
