Students will no longer be able to order food to be delivered to Glendale High School during the school day, beginning Thursday 10/26/23.  Having food delivered by vendors and delivery drivers creates an unsafe situation at school. (Updated 10/23/23) PTSA Capital Campaign Message
Greetings, Glendale families,

The annual PTSA fundraiser is underway and will end on November 17th. Our PTSA raises money to meet the needs of our teachers, staff and students that are not met through the regular school budget. Some examples of things PTSA has provided this past year include scientific calculators; bluetooth microscopes; fabric for fashion and design; and student hygiene items and school supplies. Perhaps our most exciting project in recent years was a complete renovation of our teacher's workroom! We cannot provide these items and do these projects without your help. You should have received a mailing from the PTSA outlining two ways to give, either personally or as a business. This information is also available in the Flock is Family newsletter. Please submit your donations by November 17th. Thank you for your support of our wonderful teachers, staff and students here at Glendale High School.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)
Springfield Public Schools has implemented PBIS across all schools.  PBIS is An evidence-based practice that, when implemented with fidelity, has proven to reduce problem behaviors while increasing prosocial behaviors.  PBIS is a framework for creating safe and orderly learning environments where all students can be academically and socially successful.  Please see below for the GHS PBIS student expectations.  This year during FLIGHT class, students who meet the requirements will be allowed to travel to the cafeteria where there will be music, raffles, and other activities.

Student requirements for travel are:

  • No ISS or OSS

  • Students who are drafted to a classroom for academic support will also not travel to the cafeteria
Student Attendance is Vital to Student Success

A+ Program Updates
The A+ Program provides scholarship funds for eligible graduates to attend most Missouri community colleges and technical schools. In addition, several four-year Missouri colleges and universities offer their own scholarship for A+ qualified students. Last year our A+ graduates could earn as much as $10,000 towards their college tuition and general fees.

Glendale makes the A+ program fun by providing promotional activities and events each school year. Each year we have around 50% of graduates qualify for the A+ program. For more information about the Glendale A+ Program, students can check out their A+ CANVAS course which lists A+ Program Resources, visit the A+ website or follow us on Twitter @glendaleAplus.

If you have any questions please contact Jenny Cofield, Glendale A+ Program Coordinator.

The Branch
Students needing free food, hygiene and/or clothing supplies…  GHS is proud to have The Branch Hygiene, Clothing, and Food Outreach Program inventory available to our students at no cost!  Please see Ms. Massey or Mrs. Patton for any needs.

Student Grades
Please check your student's grades for seated courses in eSchool.  We will continue to post student grades in eSchool.  It is vital that students start strong.  Please check your student's grades online, and communicate with your student's teachers.  Our goal is that all students are academically successful, please encourage your student to submit all assignments.

If your student is taking a LAUNCH course or is fully virtual, their grades will be kept updated in Canvas.

eSchool is where you see your students' grades (completed assignments) and Canvas is where you see what they are doing, and what they will be doing (current and future assignments and learning).

    Grades & D/F Phone Calls
Grades in eSchool are the official grades for seated students.  GHS will continue sending phone messages to the homes of students who have a D or F in any of their classes. If you haven't started checking eSchool grades please do so.  If you receive the phone call please check eSchool to see what class(es) your student has the D/F. We also recommend you contact the teacher with questions, concerns, or you feel an error has been made.

For clarification, the report used to determine who receives these calls runs at 4:30 a.m.
the day you receive the call. It is possible teachers update grades during the course of the
day. Again, please check eSchool on a regular basis and direct questions to the teacher(s).
